The campus occupies 8,180 acres (3,310 hectares), among the largest in the United States, and enrolls over 17,000 students. Stanford is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious universities in the world. The Stanfords also hired renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who previously designed the Cornell campus, to design the Stanford campus. The view of campus and all the way to San Francisco on a clear day is best captured from the Hoover Tower observation platform.

Berry College is a private liberal arts college in the Mount Berry community adjacent to Rome, Georgia. Berry College is situated near the city of Rome in northwestern Georgia, 59 miles (95 km) northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, and 53 miles (85 km) south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The campus consists of more than 27,000 acres of land – including fields, forests, and Lavender Mountain making it the largest contiguous college campus in the world. In September 2011, Travel+Leisure ranked Berry among the most beautiful college campuses in the United States.

The University of Notre Dame du Lac, known simply as Notre Dame is a private Catholic research university in Notre Dame, Indiana, north of the city of South Bend. Notre Dame has been recognized as one of the top universities in the United States. The main campus covers 1,261 acres (510 ha) in a suburban setting and contains landmarks such as the Golden Dome, the Word of Life mural (commonly known as Touchdown Jesus), Notre Dame Stadium, and the Basilica. It is ranked as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the world.

Florida Southern College is a private college in Lakeland, Florida. The Princeton Review selected Florida Southern’s campus as the most beautiful in the country. The present campus comprises 70 buildings on 110 acres (45 ha) of land and is home to the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world. In September 2011, Travel+Leisure listed it as one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States.

The University of San Diego (USD) is a private Roman Catholic research university in San Diego, California. In 2021, The Princeton Review ranked the University of San Diego 6th in Most Beautiful Campus, 8th in Best Quality of Life, 14th in Most Popular Study Abroad Program, and 18th in Green Colleges. The campus is located approximately two miles north of downtown San Diego, on the north crest of Mission Valley in the community of Linda Vista. In February 2022, Travel+Leisure named the University of San Diego as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States.
